25 Skills Every Child Should Learn Poster
Published by the Sunday Times at the start of the school holidays, this pull-out poster aimed to occupy the down time of readers' children by challenging them to learn 25 fun, entertaining or just plain useful skills over their summer break
As the lead creative on the project I worked closely with the editorial team from an early stage to help flesh out their rough idea for a special feature
Aimed at a much younger audience than the newspaper, I remixed elements from the publication's design guide (colours, typefaces and illustrative style) to create a visual language that would engage a target audience of 8-15 year olds
I also acted as design director to a small team of designers to deliver the project on time and on-brand
100 Answers Every Grown-up Needs To Know
The poster tied-in with a two-part special supplement featuring fun facts about a wide range of topics that was intended to become a reference for answering awkward questions asked by children
Working with another designer, I designed a handful of illustration-led pages that tied together multiple answers on a similar theme. I also acted as design director for all the illustrations created by the graphics department for both supplements
Animated graphics
Many of the illustrations in the supplements were animated for the iPad edition of the newspaper
