Higher Rate Stamp Duty – interactive feature
In 2015, the UK Government announced a new, higher rate of stamp duty that would be introduced from 1 April 2016 on all property purchases not bought as a ‘primary home’. To help Sunday Times readers understand this new tax and how it would affect any tax due on purchases, I devised, designed and developed this interactive feature
Much of the content shown to users is tailored to search parameters. Ten illustrations – 5 foreground properties and 5 backgrounds – can combine to create 25 possible images tailored to the location and property type selected
Clear, concise data visualisations, again tailored to user input, explore how average prices and the stamp duty owed on purchases have evolved over the past 30 years
The feature appeared alongside numerous articles in the Sunday Times’ web and tablet editions. Click here to launch the standalone feature and explore higher rate stamp duty for yourself
